Software Development Tips: Understand needs of the software and list it's specifications before coding.

Once you can clearly understand the functionality to be developed, you'll have to do a more detailed design, preferably in terms of use cases. Rethink and work out all the details of your design prior to coding. If you do so during coding, the failure rate of your project will increase dramatically.
